Why Router R2 require routing protocols to send traffic to other network but PC0 doesnot ?
ZAP
Hi Saubhik,
The pc's does not required any information about the remote network or different networks. We have a functionality of Default-gateway for pc's. If pc's have to communicate in same network, the pc will send traffic direct to destination pc. But if the destination ip is in different network , pc will transmit data to default gateway and default gateway will be the router connected in the same lan. Now Router perform routing on the basis of routing table. The routing table can be populate statically or dynamically (protocols). The protocols which are mostly used for routing are EIGRP and OSPF. So, it is mandotary to provide default-gateway to a pc, if that pc is going to send traffic in different networks.
Hope it helps!
