Hi
Can we use bgp path active active which are now active and backup for cloud.please explain
Yes in BGP we can do active active forwarding but the rules apply differently for IBGP and EBGP routes. For ebgp routes if you have two ebgp routes for the same destination with different next-hop and if their all path attributes are same till igp metric to next-hop then we run a command maximum paths 2 under router bgp process it will work . If we have two iBGP routes then you have to run the command maximum path ibgp under router bgp process for this also all attributes must be same.we cannot perform active active forwarding if one route is ibgp and other is ebgp. it can be only done in case of mpls l3vpn.
